Join us at Here and Now Yoga for an afternoon of mindful movement, community connection, and sustainable style! This unique event is designed to nourish your body, spark joy, and give your wardrobe a fresh new look—all while being kind to the planet.

We’ll begin with a 50-min all-levels, invigorating Vinyasa flow, designed to open you up, shake off the week’s stress, and fill you with positive energy. Pay-what-you-can.
• 3:00 PM: Community Clothing Swap
After yoga, the transformation continues! It’s time to clean out your closet consciously. Bring a bag of your clean, gently-loved clothing and accessories and swap them for “new-to-you” treasures. It’s fun, eco-friendly shopping.
How the Swap Works:
1. Register for the class: in advance
2. Bring: A bag of clean, good-condition clothing, shoes, or accessories you no longer wear.
3. Browse & Socialize: Enjoy a snack, sip a drink, and mingle with the community.
4. Swap! Once we’re as organized as we can be, everyone is invited to “shop” the collective closet and take home the pieces they love.

“My name is Cindy Benigno, and for the past 6 years, I have had the joy of teaching the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program. This practice is based on the Sun style of Tai Chi, chosen for its proven healing benefits, gentle Qigong exercises, and its remarkable ability to improve mobility and balance.”
You’ll experience a powerful yet gentle practice that includes:
• Warm-up & Cool-down movements to safely prepare and restore the body
• Qigong breathing techniques for relaxation and vital energy
• Basic Core Tai Chi movements from the Sun style tradition

This entire class can be done fully seated in a chair if needed.

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, the majority of proceeds from our April donation classes will benefit the Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation, which supports inclusion and meaningful opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities through recreation, education, and community programs.
Intro to African Dance with Shirelle Pearson is an energetic and welcoming class that introduces participants to traditional and contemporary African dance movements rooted in rhythm, storytelling, and community. Students can expect a fun, supportive environment where we explore basic steps. The goal is to build confidence, connect to the music, and experience the joy of movement. No prior dance experience is required – Truly. If you’ve never taken a dance class before, you’ll be just fine. Shirelle breaks everything down in a clear, supportive way. Just wear comfortable clothing, bring water, and an open mind ready to move and have fun!
Shirelle Pearson is a lover of the arts, culture, travel, and a devoted mother of 2 adult sons, and “Glama” to a grandson. She is a corporate employee health and benefit consultant, and volunteers time to the NYS Adelphi University Breast Cancer Hotline Program Volunteer, Children & Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) of Nassau County as Chapter Leader & Treasurer, CHADD’s National Board of Directors, serving in the role of Treasurer and on various committees.
Shirelle has over 18 years of dance experience performing a variety of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and African dance. She is passionate about creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where students can explore movement and rhythm. Her teaching approach focuses on building confidence, musicality, body awareness, while experiencing the joyous energy of dance.

KIRTAN (Special Donation Class)

Join us for a heart-opening afternoon of Kirtan led by Dena Coduri at Here and Now Yoga, Wellness & Arts Collective in Floral Park.
Kirtan is a joyful, call-and-response chanting practice rooted in the devotional traditions of yoga, where music, rhythm, and community come together in shared song.
Dena will guide participants through simple, soulful mantras accompanied by live music, creating an uplifting and meditative atmosphere where everyone is welcome to participate—whether singing, listening, or simply soaking in the experience. YOGA: Hatha/Vinyasa (Special Donation Class) Sunday, May 3, 2pm ~ Join Adam Kern at Here and Now Yoga, Wellness & Arts Collective in Floral Park for a welcoming, open-level class that blends the grounding steadiness of Hatha with the fluid movement of Vinyasa. Sometimes you’ll pause and hold poses to build strength and awareness; other times you’ll flow through sequences that link breath and movement, creating a balanced and engaging practice.
Adam has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and teaching for thirteen. His classes are designed to be welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone. Open-level classes allow each student to work at their own pace—whether exploring new challenges or deepening familiarity with foundational poses.
Adam’s approach is shaped by his travels and the many yoga styles he’s encountered along the way, bringing a thoughtful and well-rounded perspective to his teaching. Off the mat, he enjoys traveling, acting, ice-skating, and continuing his medical education as a registered nurse.
This class is part of our May donation-based offerings. The majority of proceeds will benefit the Give Me Shelter Project, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting animal rescue organizations and improving the lives of homeless animals through funding, advocacy, and community support.

RESTORE: Reiki & Sound Healing

We are thrilled to welcome back our very own instructor Micheline for another powerful Reiki and sound healing experience.
Immerse yourself in a deep healing workshop. Open to all levels – no previous experience needed.
We’ll begin with grounding breathwork, transitioning into gentle movement to ease tension and release tightness in the body. From there, you’ll settle into Restorative Yoga poses, guided into deeper relaxation while receiving hands-on support and Reiki. The session concludes with a soothing Yoga Nidra, leaving you refreshed and rejuvenated.
Dress comfortably, feel free to bring your favorite blanket, nice comfy socks and water.
