YOGA for MARTIAL ARTISTS & ALL ATHLETES (Special DONATION Class) ~ Sunday, November 2nd, 2pm (60 min)
Led by Here and Now Yoga studio co-owner / former black belt instructor (Hwa Rang Do & Shotokan Karate): Michelle Ingkavet Cavanagh
Take your performance to the next level and extend the longevity of your practice. This is a targeted training session designed specifically for the demands of martial artists, fighters, and athletes of all disciplines.
We will deconstruct a unique blend of yoga, calisthenics, and mindful movement to address the critical physical and mental gaps that high-intensity training often creates.
Injury Resilience & Kinetic Chain Integration: Move your body as a single, powerful unit. We’ll strengthen stabilizer muscles and improve joint mobility to create a more robust frame that absorbs impact and transfers force more efficiently.
Breath Control Under Load: Learn to wield your breath as a tool. We’ll practice advanced breathing techniques (pranayama) to maintain calm and power output during physical duress, combatting fatigue and sharpening your focus.
Kinesthetic Awareness & Movement Economy: Develop a fighter’s sense of positioning. Through precise alignment, you’ll sharpen your proprioception—your awareness of where your body is in space—for better balance, control, and technical accuracy.
Neurological Recovery & CNS Regulation: Accelerate your recovery between tough training sessions. This class actively down-regulates your nervous system, teaching it to shift from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest,” leading to faster muscle repair and sharper reflexes.
All levels welcome. Bring / rent a mat.
